Here below is the itinerary. The information is indicative and may have variations on designated tours.
Day
Welcome to Bulgaria! We will meet at Metropolitan Hotel Sofia (09:00) After the briefing we will start the tour, heading to Rila Monastery, the largest and most impressive monastery on the Balkan Peninsula. We will walk through the Stob Pyramids formation, amazing sandstone formation. Overnight in a cosy family hotel in Bansko, feel at home with the locals and enjoy lunch (dinner included).
Today we will visit the Dobarsko Basilica, one of the oldest unrestored churches since 1122. We will continue our tour to the Dancing Bear Park, where more than 20 bears are kept in the national rescue centre. We will take a train ride through the Yakoruda/Avramovo region to Bansko. Incredible 1,5 hour narrow-gauge train ride incl. refreshment. Overnight in cosy family hotel Bansko.
Today we will visit Leshten, or Kovachevitsa, one of the most picturesque mountain villages in the Rhodopes. We will take a fantastic excursion to the Devil's Throat Cave, a guided tour of a dramatic, short but steep cave. After the visit to the Devil's Throat Cave we will drive to the spa town of Devin, a mineral hot springs town in the middle of the Rhodope Mountains.

Today is a very special day where we will visit the Architectural Reserve of Shiroka Laka a typical mountain village built on the side of the valley, we will also discover the Wonderful Bridges of Chudnite Mostove, the unique majestic rocky phenomenon, known as Skalnite Mostove, the Assen Fortress, a medieval fortress on top of a rock over the river. Continue our journey to Plovdiv, overnight in a cosy hotel in Plovdiv. Spend the evening in this fantastic city.
We are in the city of Plovdiv, the oldest city in Europe incl. city tour with local guide. We will visit the oldest city in Europe, with its ancient Theatre, Roman Stadium, and experience the mix of various cultures. We will also walk through the amazing old town of this beautiful city. In the afternoon, we will transfer to the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia. We will enjoy the city on foot through the highlights of Sofia. Farewell dinner in Sofia.
