Introduction

Dear Traveler, thank you for choosing The Molt Collection.
We have meticulously selected every tour and adventure to make sure that this will not just become another trip but the experience of a lifetime.
Here below is the itinerary. The information is indicative and may have variations on designated tours.

Day
Welcome to Copenhagen. The charming capital and city of canals, cobbled streets and captivating design. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by its blend of modern innovation and historic charm. Landmarks include the colorful Nyhavn Harbor, the majestic Christiansborg Palace, and the serene Tivoli Gardens.
Upon arrival, enjoy a private transfer to your accommodation in Villa Copenhagen.
Explore the city's unique charm before settling into your luxurious Superior Room.
We will board in Copenhagen and fly to Nuuk, Greenland. The trip takes four and a half hours. Five exciting days await us around New Year's Eve in Ilulissat, but there is still one more flight to come.
After a short stopover in Nuuk, where we will change, we will continue to Ilulissat. After flying over the wonderful frozen fjord of Ilulissat, we will land at Ilulissat Airport. We will pick you up by bus and take you to the cozy Arctic Hotel, located by the sea. There, you will meet a guide from our local tourist office, "World of Greenland".
After check-in, the guide will arrange a briefing to inform you about the city, the area, and possible excursions. Please note that the order of the excursions may vary. This is because daylight hours are limited, as is the availability of tour boats, so we may have to divide the group into smaller groups on some days, for example, while some are sailing, others are out on a dog sled. At World of Greenland we are experts in logistics like this, so no one will be left out of place.
There are plenty of things to do in Ilulissat on your own. The guide will tell you everything on the first day. Today you can explore it on your own.
If you have purchased our tour package, today's program includes a hike to the ancient settlement of Sermermiut and, later, a dog sled ride.
Hiking to the ancient Inuit settlement of Sermermiut by the frozen fjord (included in the tour package)
Today, you will walk to the ancient settlement of Sermermiut, inhabited for thousands of years thanks to its magnificent location on the frozen fjord. While the view is incredible, it wasn't the scenery that attracted the Inuit. The area offers excellent hunting opportunities, as the frozen fjord provides food for both fish and seals, which in turn has served as a basis for human settlements for millennia.
1 1/2 hour dog sled ride (included in the tour package)
Today, you will enjoy a 1 and a half hour dog sled ride. Dog sledding is one of Greenland's most famous icons and a thousand-year-old tradition for the Inuit. Few modes of transportation have survived so long without changes in appearance and technology: a pack of happy dogs with harnesses strapped to a simplely constructed wooden sled. The experience cannot be explained, it must be lived.
This tour usually takes place on flat terrain near Ilulissat. In addition to the driver, there are two participants on each sled, so if you book the tour alone, you can share the sled with another person. However, every dog is different, so if you're out with family and friends, we can't guarantee that you'll be traveling together throughout the trip, as some dogs are fast and some aren't. This tour is not recommended for people with neck or back problems or with reduced mobility. Participants must be over 12 years old.

Tonight is New Year's Eve! But before you start the festivities, if you booked our excursion package, you will sail through the frozen fjord. Disko Bay is Greenland's most popular tourist destination. This is due to the ice, but also to its special beauty and its many cultural attractions. One of the great jewels of the area, and certainly the most famous, is the frozen fjord of Ilulissat.
Sailing to the frozen fjord of Ilulissat (part of the excursion package):
You'll end the year with one of the highlights of your life: a trip to the mouth of the frozen Ilulissat Fjord. You will sail around some of the huge icebergs that form when they break off from the glacier front. At the mouth of the fjord, for millennia, icebergs have pushed a sandbar forward, and now huge icebergs get stuck here. When the pressure from behind is too high because of the new icebergs the glacier produces, or because some of the big icebergs melt in summer, the icebergs eventually break over the sandbar and float into Disko Bay.
You can also consider a snowmobile tour. (Optional):
This tour takes you into the interior of Ilulissat to experience the Arctic winter landscape up close. First, you will climb a gorge on a narrow path that crosses the mountains behind Ilulissat. From the top, you'll enjoy fantastic views of the City and Disko Bay. Afterwards, you will continue in a group over frozen lakes and the rugged mountain landscape. You will stop at the best viewpoints to take photos and enjoy hot drinks. You can hire the tour to have someone else accompany you on the snowmobile or you can go alone.
Gala dinner at the Arctic Hotel:
The New Year is approaching and tonight you will attend a gala dinner at the Arctic Hotel. It is a five-course dinner. There will be a break at 21:00, as, at that time, almost the entire population of Greenland goes out to celebrate the New Year CET and sets off fireworks in honour of all their friends and family in Denmark (there are about 15,000 Greenlanders living in Denmark and many who have lived in Greenland).
After this, you go back to the table and, when the clock strikes midnight, you go back to the snow, this time to celebrate the "real" New Year. Then you go back inside and enjoy a glass of sparkling wine. You decide when you want the night to end.
You'll have January 1 free to relax. If you bought the tour package, you will go looking for the Northern Lights at night. You can enjoy our optional: This excursion package offers you magnificent Arctic nature near the frozen fjord, dog sledding, the Northern Lights and an approach to the cultural history of the abandoned settlement of Sermermiut.
Today we return to Denmark. In an Air Greenland Dash 8, you'll depart Ilulissat Airport bound for Nuuk and then fly to Copenhagen, where you'll arrive in the afternoon.
In the afternoon you will have time to explore the highlights of Copenhagen on a panoramic tour of the city, including the Town Hall Square, the Old Stock Exchange, Amalienborg Palace, Tivoli Gardens and a visit to Christiansborg Palace. Along the way, you'll also pass fascinating neighborhoods, such as bohemian Christiania and trendy Vesterbro, while learning about Copenhagen's eco-friendly lifestyle, cycling culture, and commitment to design and sustainability.
See the iconic Nyhavn and the Little Mermaid statue among other highlights. We recommend visiting perhaps the Tivoli Gardens inside and having dinner.
Breakfast. After a few unforgettable days in Copenhagen, it's time to say goodbye to this fascinating and welcoming city. We take with us the magic of Nyhavn, the elegance of its palaces, the excitement of the Tivoli and the serenity of its streets full of bicycles. But more than memories, Copenhagen leaves us with the feeling of wanting to return, because its charm is one of those that last. Until next time, Copenhagen – see you soon! Private transfer to the airport to continue your journey.
