We have meticulously selected every tour and adventure to make sure that this will not just become another trip but the experience of a lifetime.
Here below is the itinerary. The information is indicative and may have variations on designated tours.

Day
Welcome to Copenhagen. (transfer not included). The charming Danish capital and city of canals, cobbled streets and captivating design. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by its blend of modern innovation and historic charm. Landmarks include the colorful Nyhavn Harbor, the majestic Christiansborg Palace, and the serene Tivoli Gardens. A 2-hour walking tour of the city will be carried out with your accompanying guide starting at 3:00 p.m.
Explore the city's unique charm before settling into your room. Meet your accompanying guide at 6 pm at your hotel, to introduce you to this unforgettable Expedition.
Free night.
Depart Copenhagen taking the flight included at 8:30 am with approximately 41/2 hours of flight, you set foot on the largest island in the world. After a short stop in Nuuk, we continue to Ilulissat on a smaller plane. It's an incredible flight, allowing you to take in the magnificent frozen landscape, barren wilderness and magnitude of the Arctic. During our approach to Ilulissat, the city will seem to be located in the middle of nowhere. The colourful houses contrast with the snow-capped mountains, and a few days full of ice, winter and dog sledding await you, combined with cultural elements of a modern but very authentic Greenlandic village. A private transfer will take us to the Arctic Hotel and you will check into this magnificent four-star hotel. Here you will meet one of our local guides, who will inform you about the city, the area, the restaurants and the possibilities for excursions.
EXCURSION INCLUDED The first excursion of the excursion package (including 2 hours) is a guided tour of the city.
You will learn about the history of the city and experience many interesting aspects, including the many sled dogs that live here. Most dogs stay out of town at a husky farm if they wouldn't be roaming around town. Ilulissat means icebergs, which is pretty self-explanatory once you get to see the city. Accommodation
Icebergs in Disko Bay, Today we will enjoy the sheer beauty of Disko Bay is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Greenland. Mainly because of the ice, but also because of the beauty of the place, the many cultural attractions and the interaction between the traditional way of life and the modern life of the city. Ilulissat and the surrounding area offer plenty of hiking possibilities, and perhaps the initial briefing has inspired you to make the most of the day, or you may want to take in the fantastic views of Disko Bay and let time stand still for a few hours.
EXCURSION INCLUDED Excursion to the settlement of Sermermiut (included)
Beautiful views of icebergs set the stage for the ancient settlement of Sermermiut, 1.5 kilometers south of Ilulissat. For 4,000 years, different Inuit cultures lived in the settlement. Hear the story about the life of the indigenous people and their traditions before the arrival of Europeans in Greenland. Gaze at the ruins and touch the permafrost with your bare hands. On this tour, we will pass through "Kællingekløften", where you can enjoy the magnificent view of the Ice Fjord, before making our way back again.
EXCURSION INCLUDED Sailing between icebergs (including 2h1/2)
Almost all visitors to Ilulissat choose to take this boat tour among icebergs at least once. Every day, more than 40 million tons of ice flow into the fjord. Icebergs are gigantic, sometimes measuring more than 100 meters wide – and with a height of more than 60 meters above the surface of the water as well. These giants gather at the end of the fjord, giving you a great opportunity to sail among them. You shouldn't miss out on this exceptional experience when you visit Ilulissat. Remember to bring warm clothes, or you can rent sealskin clothing.
EXCURSION INCLUDED Northern Lights Excursion - Chasing the dancing lights of the sky (included - 1h1/2 )
The Northern Lights are one of the most enchanting natural wonders of the Arctic. On calm, clear winter nights, you may be lucky enough to witness this magical light show over the dark horizon of Ilulissat. Join us on an atmospheric night excursion through nature, away from the city lights. Here, under an open sky full of stars, we create the perfect setting to enjoy the silence and, hopefully, the dancing Northern Lights. During the tour, we will talk about the aurora, share Greenlandic legends and myths, and explore the beauty of the Arctic night sky.
Good to know: This tour only takes place in clear weather. If the sky is cloudy, we will cancel the tour on the same day and do our best to find an alternative date for you. Keep in mind that the Northern Lights are not guaranteed even in clear weather – nature always has the final say.
Today we will continue to enjoy this wonderful city. A 1 1/2-hour dog sled ride awaits you today:
EXCURSION INCLUDED Dog sled ride (included)
A person and a person in a sled with dogs. Dog sledding is one of Greenland's most famous icons and a thousand-year-old tradition for the Inuit. There aren't many vehicles that have survived this long without changes in appearance and technology: a pack of cheerful dogs in harnesses strapped to a simply constructed wooden sled. Experience cannot be explained: it must be tested. This tour usually takes place on flat terrain, on a plain near Ilulissat. In addition to the sled driver, there are two participants on each of the sleds, so if you have booked the tour on your own, you can share a sled with another person. However, all dogs are different, so if you are going with your family or friends, we cannot guarantee that you will go together throughout the trip, as some dogs are fast and others are not. Participants must be 12 years of age or older.
OPTIONAL Igloo Lodge (optional)
On days 4 and 5, you will be able to experience an authentic igloo where you will spend the night and, from here, take some unique excursions. Here, at the foot of the mountains, you will spend the night in an igloo (with the possibility of staying in a heated cabin, if you prefer after the experience). Igloo Lodge consists of five spacious igloos, each accommodating up to two people. The beds are covered with reindeer skins and warm winter sleeping bags. The temperature is around freezing inside the igloo. It's a stark contrast to the 20 degrees below zero estimated outside. The wooden cabin next to the lodge is where we will eat. The drive to the Igloo Lodge is also exciting. You'll be taken on a dog sled for about an hour through the interior of Ilulissat, with incredible views along the way. They will wait for you at the cabin with coffee and lunch. Afterwards, coffee and cake in the afternoon, dinner and coffee in the evening, followed by a look outside for the Northern Lights. You can then retire to your igloo, and in the morning, breakfast will be served, and finally, you will have the ride on your huskies back to civilization.
Today you can enjoy our wonderful excursions designed for you. Also, take advantage of the last day to experience the atmosphere and life of the city, step back in time and feel the history in the cozy museum established in the birthplace of Knud Rasmussen. The fishermen of "Brættet", the local market, will give you an insight into Greenland's interesting food products. It doesn't get any cooler than this. When you've satiated your appetite for visual experiences, it's time to delight the palate and fill the stomach. Ilulissat's restaurants invite you on a journey through local specialties such as Greenlandic sushi, fried ammassats (small fish), whale and seal, and in the cafes, freshly baked pastries will tempt all those with a sweet tooth. A journey that will put all the senses to work. And by the way, contemplating the Ice Fjord will never be tiring.
OPTIONAL 3-hour snowmobile tour: Price: EUR 240 per person.
Minimum age: 18 years old In winter, snowmobiling is a very popular activity in Greenland. With their powerful engines and speed, snowmobiles are an exciting adventure. 2 people per snowmobile - Snowmobile Instructor - Safety instructions - Coffee and tea
Good to know: Two people share each snowmobile. If you buy the ride alone, you may have to share the snowmobile with someone else.
Booking: We recommend that you book the tour at the time of booking your trip. If you book later, you risk the package being sold out.
OPTIONAL Helicopter excursion. Icefjord and Glacier from the heights! PRICE: 650 EUR per person (minimum 3 people)
Helicopter in the iceThe Ilulissat Ice Fjord and Kangia Glacier are the center of attention on a 1 1/2-hour helicopter ride that will take you straight to the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. No boat or hiking trail can get so close to the huge glacier, and you'll see it all from above! The helicopter takes off from Ilulissat Airport and flies as low as safety and laws allow over mountains, lakes, rivers and the Icefjord until it reaches a mountain on the edge of the ice sheet. Here we have half an hour to enjoy the views. We then fly over the front of the glacier and follow the Icefjord for 70 kilometres on our way back.
Breakfast at your hotel. With one last view of the Ice Fjord and the captivating icebergs, the flight will take you back to Nuuk and from there to Copenhagen, where you will arrive in the afternoon.
Breakfast at your hotel. Free time to walk around in Copenhagen and then take the plane back home. Transfer (not included) to the airport.
