Introduction
Dear Traveler, thank you for choosing The Molt Collection.
We have meticulously selected every tour and adventure to make sure that this will not just become another trip but the experience of a lifetime.
Here below is the itinerary. The information is indicative and may have variations on designated tours.
Day
Arrival in Cairo and reception by our staff. Practical information and transfer to the hotel. Overnight.
Breakfast. At the agreed time, transfer to Cairo airport and departure to Luxor. Arrival and reception by our local staff. Visit to the Temple of Karnak, the greatest monument of the Pharaonic culture. You will also visit the Temple of Luxor, dedicated to Amun-Ra, Mut and Khonu, built by Amenophis III and Ramses II. Transfer to the cruise ship. Dinner and overnight on board.
Full board on board. Visit the Necropolis of Thebes or the Valley of the Kings where the pharaohs of the XVIII to XX dynasty were buried. On the way back, visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, unique in the whole country, as it is formed by staggered terraces of large dimensions. Finally, you will visit the Colossi of Memnon, of King Amenophis III, which guard the entrance of his funerary temple. Boarding and sailing to Edfu. Overnight on board.
Full board. Disembark at Edfu where you will take a private horse-drawn carriage ride to the temple of Horus, the falcon-headed god. Return to the ship and continue sailing south. Arrival at Kom Ombo and visit the Temple particularly strange for being double, dedicated both to the god Haroeris, with the head of a sparrow hawk, and the god Sobeck, with the head of a crocodile. Continuation to Aswan. Overnight on board.
Full board. Visit by bus to the various temples of Abu Simbel. They are carved into the cliff of the western desert by Ramses II and have statues up to 20 m. high. On the way back you will visit the most outstanding places of this beautiful southern city: the famous granite quarry where you will observe the ingenious procedure used by the Egyptians to extract the blocks of this material, the unfinished Obelisk of 41 meters, and the Old Dam. We will pass the New Dam; monumental engineering works built the first in the nineteenth century by the British and the second between 1960 and 1971, to control the flooding of the banks of the Nile. Finally, you will ride on a falucca, a typical fishermen's boat, to navigate the Nile in a sui generis way. Overnight on board.
Breakfast on board. At the agreed time, transfer to Aswan airport and departure to Cairo. Arrival and reception by our staff and transfer to the hotel. At the appointed time, visit the Museum of Egyptian Art, the richest museum of Egyptian antiquities in the world. Overnight.
Breakfast. Visit the Pyramids of Giza: Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world and the only one that has been preserved. Along with the famous Sphinx is undoubtedly the most suggestive visit of the trip. Later you can optionally visit the Citadel built by Saladin in the twelfth century, the Alabaster Mosque and the Grand Bazaar of Khan el Khalili. Overnight.
Breakfast. Departure to Cairo International Airport for departure flight.
