Introduction

Dear Traveler, thank you for choosing The Molt Collection.
We have meticulously selected every tour and adventure to make sure that this will not just become another trip but the experience of a lifetime.
Here below is the itinerary. The information is indicative and may have variations on designated tours.

Day
Your adventure begins with a first night in Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina. Discover the bustling city of tango at your own pace, contemplate its artistic heritage and enjoy its cuisine in one of its many restaurants.
Early in the morning we fly to Ushuaia, to board the hybrid-powered expedition ship, MS Fridtjof Nansen. This port city competes with Chile's Puerto Williams for the coveted title of southernmost city in the world. In Ushuaia we can contemplate the Martial glacier located north of the city, an impressive backdrop for our particular "end of the world."
After boarding, you must attend a mandatory onboard health and safety meeting, after which you will enjoy a welcome dinner hosted by the captain. We recommend taking a few minutes to discover the boat as it will be your cozy home for the next few days.

To reach Antarctica we will cross the Drake Passage. It owes its name to the English privateer Sir Francis Drake, who discovered it by chance in 1578 when strong winds blew his ship south. At this latitude there is no land. The wind and sea roam freely making it difficult to cross the pass. Our modern expedition ship is more than prepared to overcome the well-known “Drake Shake”.

It takes two days to cross the approximately 1,000 km of the Drake. It is time to prepare to be able to take advantage of every minute in Antarctica. The Expedition Team will begin their lecture program at the Science Center and show you how you should behave to make your exploration in Antarctica as safe and sustainable as possible. In accordance with IAATO guidelines, we will wear sterilized boots for disembarkations and will be sure to vacuum our clothing to remove any potential contaminants. You will be able to learn about and participate in different Citizen Science projects, which collaborate in the collection of data for scientific research.

Take advantage of the comforts that our boat offers you. You can exercise in the outdoor and indoor gyms or request a treatment at the spa. Remember that the MS Fridtjof Nansen has three magnificent restaurants where you can taste a careful variety of dishes. While the boat sails, go out on deck in search of the first iceberg and observe the fauna around you: whales, petrels and albatrosses.
Welcome to Antarctica. Being here, surrounded by frozen waters, glaciers and icebergs will probably make you feel like you've landed in a completely different world. Antarctica is magnificent, fascinating and enormous. Stop and enjoy the moment. The first movements of the wildlife that surrounds you, seals, penguins, whales... will break the silence and return you to reality.
Antarctica's frozen landscapes and wildlife behavior change with the passing of the seasons. In late spring, in October and November, there is much more snow and this makes the landscapes seem even more pristine. It is the mating season for penguins and the ideal time to build their nests. We won't find many whales yet. They will begin to arrive in December and January, marking the height of summer, just when the first penguin chicks poke their heads out of the nest. February and March are the ideal months for whale watching, which arrive attracted by large quantities of krill from the Southern Ocean.

Our Expedition Team will take advantage of every opportunity to allow you to navigate through the ice, come ashore and get up close to the impressive wildlife. Watching penguins from the boat is quite an experience, which becomes even more wonderful when you go ashore to see them. The same thing happens when a seal or a whale suddenly appears next to you while you are sailing in our inflatable boats or kayaks, on one of the optional excursions we offer. Don't forget to have your camera ready to capture these unexpected gifts of nature! To complete all these sensations, remember that the Expedition Team offers you different conferences on the history of the frozen continent, the biology of the local fauna and glaciology.
After exploring the wild and remote Antarctica for five days, we head back. It is time to relive your experience with the images you will have captured these days and the Science Center program guided by the Expedition Team. Enjoy again the comforts that the MS Fridtjof Nansen offers you, in the gym, bar, spa or in the panoramic lounge.
We arrive in Ushuaia, located in the province of Tierra del Fuego, the southernmost province of Argentina. Our expedition ends with the charter flight back to Buenos Aires.
