Denmark, officially the Kingdom of Denmark (Kongeriget Danmark), is a Nordic country in Northern Europe and the southernmost of the Scandinavian nations. Situated on the Jutland Peninsula and an archipelago of over 400 islands, it is bordered by Germany to the south and connected to Sweden via the Øresund Bridge. The country’s capital, Copenhagen, lies on the island of Zealand (Sjælland), the largest of Denmark’s islands, which are surrounded by the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. Known for its temperate climate influenced by the Gulf Stream, Denmark experiences mild winters and cool summers, with temperatures rarely exceeding 28°C in peak months.
