Introduction

Dear Traveler, thank you for choosing The Molt Collection.
We have meticulously selected every tour and adventure to make sure that this will not just become another trip but the experience of a lifetime.
Here below is the itinerary. The information is indicative and may have variations on designated tours.

Day
Arrival at Keflavík Airport, located 50 km from Reykjavík, transfer to the hotel. You are in Iceland, a land and culture enriched by fire and ice, where lava fields and gigantic glaciers sculpt mountains and valleys, leaving thunderous waterfalls and deep fjords. In this land of many natural wonders, depending on your flight arrival time, enjoy a free day in Reykjavík to visit its varied and interesting museums and art galleries, churches, relax with a coffee in any of the capital's typical cafés, take a stroll around the harbour, etc. Accommodation.
Breakfast and dinner at the hotel. Start the day by visiting Skogafoss waterfall, which we passed by yesterday. Skógafoss is 62 metres high and almost 30 metres wide. Here you can climb the more than 400 steps and enjoy spectacular views of Iceland's south coast and watch the water fall from a metal balcony. Here we can also visit the Skógar Open Air Ethnographic Museum with its old turf houses. Admire the natural rock formations of Dyrhólaey, a small volcanic peninsula rising above the ocean. Next, we will visit Reynisfjara beach, with its spectacular basalt formations. Be careful on the beach, as it is dangerous due to the large waves! EXERCISE CAUTION and NEVER go near the shore or the basalt ‘organ/cave’ on the left when the waves and/or tide are high. We will pass through Vík again (this time without stopping) and travel through the sandy desert region of Skeiðarársandur to the village of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. Dinner at the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will spend the morning at Skaftafell National Park, located at the foot of Vatnajökull, Europe's largest glacier. In the park, you can walk to Svartifoss waterfall (1 hour there and 1 hour back), or another option is to walk along a path to the right of the park's Interpretation Centre to the glacier tongue. In the afternoon, we continue to the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon for an amphibious boat or zodiac ride (optional). There, you can also drive to the coast and see the ice blocks that flow out of the lagoon through a channel towards the sea, known as the Diamond Beach. Seals are often seen in the area! Return to the hotel and dinner there. Accommodation.
Breakfast. Return to Reykjavík with stops along the way. Arrival in Reykjavík in the afternoon. Travel along the south coast to the Reykjanes Peninsula. Known for its rugged landscape, lava fields and numerous hot springs, the peninsula is home to the Blue Lagoon.** Take a dip in the warm, mineral-rich waters of the geothermal pool, located in the heart of a spectacular lava field. We then arrive in Reykjavík. Accommodation.
Breakfast. This morning we will visit the capital of Iceland. Our expert guide will take you on a walking tour to discover the most emblematic places in the capital of Iceland, such as the imposing Hallgrímskirkja church, the modern Harpa concert centre, the Sólfar (Sun Voyager) sculpture overlooking the bay and Mount Esja, Lake Tjörnin where you can feed ducks and swans, the City Hall with its huge topographical map of Iceland, and the Parliament next to the cathedral, among other points of interest. During the tour, the guide will share stories about Norse mythology, local culture, Viking history and interesting facts about the city, providing an immersive and enriching experience that connects visitors with the soul of Reykjavík. The tour continues to the world's largest mammal museum in a modern setting. (admission included) Learn about the world's largest mammals in a modern setting. The spectacular Whales of Iceland museum features Europe's largest whale exhibition, with life-size models of 23 different types of whales sighted in Icelandic territorial waters. The blue whale is the largest of them all, almost as long as a basketball court. Information about them is presented through detailed displays, multiple interactive exhibits and a free audio guide available in more than 12 languages. Admission includes access to the Fin Whale Theatre, which screens documentaries throughout the day and features an exhibition on whale conservation. The museum is only a 20-minute walk from the city centre, but you can also get there by city bus or the popular Reykjavík City Sightseeing bus, which runs every half hour. It is ideal to combine a visit to the museum with a whale watching tour before or after, to see them in their natural habitat.
