WELCOME to Tromsø, home of the Northern Lights.
On arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel via the regular Flybussen service. As you leave the airport, you’ll find your luggage, and your bus (Airport Express) will be waiting just outside the terminal. The journey to your hotel is approximately 5 km. Please ensure you have your voucher ready to show to the driver.
Our tour guide will meet you at reception at 18:00 to go over everything you need to know about the coming days of this unmissable tour.

In no time at all, you’ll be at the lower station of the Fjellheisen cable car, ready to ascend to the picturesque peak of Mount Storsteinen! You’ll enjoy breathtaking views as you reach the summit in the blink of an eye. Join us on Tromsø’s famous cable car to enjoy unrivalled views of Tromsø’s islands, fjords and mountains. This is also the perfect spot to see the famous Northern Lights. The Fjellheisen was built in 1961 by Brødrene Jakobsens Rederi, a shipping company that was heavily involved in polar hunting, fishing and expeditions in the Arctic and Antarctic. The Fjellheisen cable car runs from Solliveien, in Tromsdalen, up to Storsteinen mountain. The lower station is located on the mainland in Tromsø, 50 metres above sea level. The upper station, Fjellstua, is 421 metres above sea level. The journey takes four minutes.

We’ll take a historical tour of the city, immersing ourselves in its cultural heritage and marvelling at all the great figures who have called Tromsø home. We’ll visit the Arctic Cathedral, Tromsø Cathedral and stroll through colourful streets lined with venerable wooden houses and cosy, secluded cafés.

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, we’ll travel by private coach to Narvik, a charming town nestled amongst spectacular fjords and mountains. Arrival in Narvik. Check-in and perhaps some free time to visit the Narvik War Museum before we set off on our evening train tour. At 18:20, we’ll get ready to head to the railway station and board the legendary Northern Lights train, which will take us along the historic Ofoten Railway. This incredible journey will allow us to lose ourselves in the vastness of the Arctic night, following the path of the dark skies to maximise our chances of witnessing the Northern Lights. After a brief stop at Bjørnfjell station on the Swedish border, we’ll continue to Katterat station, where we’ll disembark for a total immersion in the Arctic night. We’ll gather round a cosy outdoor bonfire to enjoy delicious hot drinks and freshly baked pastries, whilst waiting to witness the sublime natural spectacle of the Northern Lights. At 10 pm, we board the train back to Narvik. Arrival and transfer to the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the railway station to board the 10.25 am train from Narvik to Kiruna on board an authentic train that will take us from Norway to Sweden. Your luggage will be transported by our private coach so that you can enjoy the train journey to the full. This is the train most commonly used by Norwegians and Swedes to reach the town of Kiruna. Santa Claus Express Night Train Rovaniemi – Helsinki: Single-deck carriage with private shower & toilet
